About Us

Welcome all to Cinetomia, a page dedicated to analyzing, criticizing and discussing movies and series! Our goal here is to create a new cinematic experience for everyone. Not only will we, the writers, analyze and critique films from every era, but we also encourage you, our readers, to get into discussions with us about your ideas and thoughts on your favorite (and least favorite) productions. Our greatest desire is to bridge the great divide between critics and audiences, so we encourage our readers to engage into deep discussions with us about their opinions.

Cinema and television have a power that many people do not recognize. Both can speak to us all, influence us and actually make us learn about different issues in this chaotic world of ours. The screen can make us cry, be happy or be mad. But most importantly whether we realize this or not, it makes us think.

Here we view films and series as a body, which we are going to dissect. Hence the title, a combination of “cinema” and “anatomia”, the Greek word for anatomy. So, if we imagine a film as a body, then there are some vital organs that it needs in order to survive. If we were to think of the director as the brain, the actor as the heart, the cinematographer as the lungs that give air to the body, then we will cut into that being, see what works and what does not. So without further ado, let’s start dissecting!

Film Moments

Snapshots from movies and series that sparked our passion for storytelling.

A display window with a variety of movie posters and DVD covers lined up on shelves. The collection includes both classic and contemporary films, and the setup has a vintage aesthetic due to the black and white photography. The titles and images are visible through the reflection of the glass, adding an artistic layer to the scene.
A nighttime scene outside a movie theater displaying advertisements on large digital screens. The marquee prominently displays 'TERMINATOR'. Shadows of people can be seen standing around the entrance, with the ground wet and reflecting light.
A screen displays the Netflix interface featuring a documentary titled 'David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet'. It occupies the top section with details like film duration and rating, along with promotional text about environmental issues. Below, there is a 'Popular on Netflix' section showcasing three different titles with corresponding images.
A dark-themed image featuring a laptop on a table. The screen displays text about the movie 'Roma', including details such as the year of release, duration, and a brief synopsis in Spanish. The surrounding environment appears dimly lit, with a mirror or framed artwork visible above the laptop.
A person wearing 3D glasses and a denim vest holds a large tub of popcorn in a dimly lit cinema. The individual is also wearing a watch and a cap turned backward, exuding a casual and relaxed vibe. The seats around them are empty, and there is a slight red and blue lighting effect.
An outdoor cinema marquee displays showtimes for a movie titled 'A Familia Addams'. Below it, a blurry figure walks past, and reflections are visible on the glass doors in the background. The scene gives a slightly nostalgic, vintage film vibe.
